A glimpse of the activities carried out by CSI's Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence has been presented below in reverse chronological order.

2008

• Coordinated with the Knowledge Based Computer Systems division of C-DAC Mumbai during the Machine Learning Workshop, December 2008, Mumbai.
• Coordinated with the Knowledge Based Computer Systems division of C-DAC Mumbai during the Rule Based Expert Systems Workshop, October 2008, Mumbai.

2007

• Technical sponsor to the National Conference on Computer Vision, AI and Robotics, October 2007, SRM University, Chennai.
• Played a major role in the organisation of Twentieth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI - 07) in India - the world's biggest international conference in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
• Organised a one-day 'Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Industry (SAII - 07)' during IJCAI - 07, where a number of AI professionals from academia and industry presented case studies and experiences of applying AI to solve practical problems. Videos of SAII 07 panel discussion.
  

2006

• An initial version of 'A compilation of AI research in India', comprising of a list of academic and research institutions working in the field of AI in India.
• Special Issue of CSI Communications: SIGAI has been instrumental in bringing out the Special Issue of CSI Communications, Sep. 2006 dedicated to AI.
• Organized a 'National Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (NWAI - 06)', July 3 - 4, 2006. It included presentations of around 20 research papers and invited talks. The workshop was conducted in an academic setting, to encourage more people, specifically academics and students, to participate.
• SIGAI members meet on July 3,  2006: The meeting consisted of a brain storming session to identify needs and explore ideas to consolidate our research activities and encourage industrial applications using AI.
• SIGAI arranged for mentoring help for intending authors to write papers for submission to IJCAI - 07.

2005

• First meeting of the Special interest Group on Artificial Intelligence (SIGAI) on 11 November, 2005 at AI Lab, University of Hyderabad during CSI 2005.
